Craig Hart

Deputy Mission Director,
US Agency for International Development (USAID)/Vietnam

A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Craig Hart currently serves as the Deputy Mission Director for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Hanoi, Vietnam.

USAID/Vietnam has an annual budget of $140 million and is engaged in a range of sectors, including war legacies, energy, economic growth, environment and health. Prior to this assignment he served as a Program Officer in Tanzania, Afghanistan, Georgia, and Washington, DC.

Before joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Hart served as U.S. Peace Corps Country Director in Armenia and Deputy Country Director in Russia. Mr. Hart received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Vermont, and a Masters’ degree in National Security Strategy from the National War College. His awards include the 2011 C. Herbert Rees Memorial and two Distinguished Honor Awards in 2015 and 2020.
