April 18, 2018 - ADB LAUNCHES INSTAGRAM PHOTO CONTEST ON CLEAN ENERGY. ADB launched a photo contest on Instagram to showcase how clean energy is being applied and used to the benefit of developing Asia and the Pacific. The full press release can be read here. March 28, 2018 - DEEP DIVE WORKSHOPS AND KNOWLEDGE DIM SUM NETWORKING SESSION ANNOUNCED. The full schedule and list of all Deep Dive Workshops (DDWs) had been made public on the ACEF 2018 website. This year’s DDWs cover a wide range of topics such as variable renewable energy integration; sustainable mini-grids; scaling up clean energy startups; clean cooking; renewable energy auctions; battery technologies; women in clean energy; and much more. ACEF is also introducing a brand new event called “Knowledge Dim Sum with Clean Energy Entrepreneurs” on Thursday 7 June from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. For 90 minutes, all ACEF attendees will have a chance to meet up to 20 different clean energy entrepreneurs who are breaking into the Asia market, or want to further enhance their overall presence in Asia. March 6, 2018 - ACEF ADVISORY GROUP. We are pleased to announce the establishment of the first-ever Asia Clean Energy Forum Advisory Group. This diverse group of clean energy leaders was assembled to provide strategic guidance in the design of the Asia Clean Energy Forum 2018 (ACEF). Each member of the ACEF Advisory Group plays an influential role in clean energy development in the public and/or private sectors throughout Asia and globally. Input from the ACEF Advisory Group will help ensure that the content of the forum is innovative, relevant to today's clean energy sector issues, and creates value for all ACEF participants and stakeholders. Due to the continued high demand, we have decided to extend the deadline for abstract submissions to Wednesday, 7 March, at midnight Manila time (+8 GMT). We have already received many high-quality submissions on a wide range of interesting topics, and we want to ensure that we have a deep and diverse set of presentations and discussions at this year's forum.
February 21, 2018 - NETWORKING DAY ON 4 JUNE. ADB will open its doors on Monday 4 June for ACEF participants to kick-start an exciting full week of clean energy conversations and networking. Participants will be able to walk down the halls of ADB starting at 9:00 AM to pick up their forum badge and materials, register onsite (if needed), and network with other ACEF participants in the auditorium halls. In the evening, participants can continue networking with other energized ACEF attendees at the pre-forum cocktail reception in the ADB cafeteria. February 1, 2018 - CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN. David Elzinga and Peter du Pont announce the opening of the Call for Abstracts for the Thematic Track sessions at ACEF 2018. ACEF is looking to engage with thought leaders, innovators, and practitioners who are really at the cutting-edge of clean energy. This year’s Forum will have four thematic tracks: three sector-focused tracks will cover the core pillars of Energy for All: Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, and Energy Access. A fourth track entitled Navigating the Future, will be cross-cutting and will focus on big ideas that will be important for the transition to a clean energy future for Asia. The deadline for abstract submissions is Friday 2 March at 17:00 Manila time (+8 GMT). Submissions must be no more than 150 words, and should highlight concrete outcomes and achievements. December 15, 2017 - DEEP DIVE WORKSHOPS. David Elzinga and Peter du Pont announce that ACEF 2018 will once again feature the Deep Dive Workshops (DDWs). The DDWs were started in 2014 because there was a need to have longer and more in-depth discussions at ACEF. Workshops are typically a day long and they are organized by one or two key organizers and they address the foundational areas of clean energy such as energy efficiency, mini-grids, and waste-to-energy, as well as other up and coming topics in the energy sector such as floating solar. David Elzinga and Peter du Pont, Co-Chairs of ACEF 2018 announce that the forum will be held at the Headquarters of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila during the week of 4-8 June 2018. The theme of Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2018 will be Harnessing Innovation to Power the Future. The Forum is being designed to support the ongoing discussions on implementing the Paris Climate Agreement and the need for innovation and scale to help countries accelerate the transition to affordable, carbon-free energy.
