Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) 2013
Asian Development Bank Headquarters, Manila
25-28 June, 2013

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) are pleased to announce the dates for the Asia Clean Energy Forum 2013.

USAID and ADB have jointly organized the Asia Clean Energy Forum (ACEF) since 2006, with the aim of sharing best practices in policy, technology, and finance to meet the region's climate and energy security challenges.  More than 830 people from 55 countries attended the 2012 Forum, which was comprised of 32 sessions and 9 side events.

In 2013, ACEF will take a fresh new approach to improve the effectiveness and outcomes of the week’s discussions.  Unlike previous years, the 2013 ACEF will incorporate many of the previous side events into the main body of the Forum.  This will allow for a more focused and condensed set of discussions on each of the main topic areas.  The Forum will be structured to contain six thematic tracks, each with a Theme Chair responsible for developing the content and ensuring a clear set of messages from the theme.  The final afternoon will be designed to have a report from each of the Theme Chairs, followed by a panel discussion on Asia’s clean energy priorities for 2014 and beyond.  The six thematic tracks are:

• Policy and Regulatory Dialogue
• Accelerating Energy Efficiency
• Promoting Renewable Energy
• Catalyzing Clean Energy Finance
• Maximizing Energy Access
• Emerging Clean Energy Technologies

Those interested in presenting their work at ACEF should respond to the CALL FOR PRESENTATION TOPICS, with submissions due by 8 March 2013.
