Stewart CraineFounder and Director Stewart Craine is the founder and Director of Barefoot Power, and also of a new organization, VIA - Village Infrastructure Angels, which aims to help solve energy access problems, mobilize more investment and help build a larger, sustainable micro-energy industry. Stewarts' experience includes project design and development in micro/mini hydropower design, large-scale wind farms, off-grid hybrid systems and engineering software development. During 7 years with Barefoot Power, Stewart assisted in raising approximately $10 million in debt, equity and grant financing from dozens of investors, helped over 1 million people get access to electricity, co-developed award-winning technologies and financial solutions, culminating in the company being listed in the Global Cleantech 100. Stewart's current focus is to assist investors and entrepreneurs to lend energy assets to villagers for 1-3 years, and is also the Head of the Working Group for Mapping for the UN's 2012 Year of Sustainable Energy for All. |
